Gist is a field guide to baseball that you can play with. Each day it picks five strikeout pitches for variety and the five outings that swung a game the most, puts the broadcast clip beside a drawing of the same pitch, and lists every game’s score. Its exhibits let you change one thing about a pitch and watch what that changes.
The numbers come from MLB’s Stats API and Baseball Savant, and each one carries a label: Observed for what MLB measured, Aggregate for season averages, Derived for what we calculate from those measurements, Simulated for the teaching models. The blue Toronto skyline in the footer and the character in the logo were drawn with an AI image tool. The notes and the numbers were not.
There are no accounts and nothing to sign up for. Gist is made in Toronto.
